Fonte Fresca is a magical place. All year round, the mountains are constantly changing from shades of blue and green to honey gold and silver grey in sunshine and in mists, but are always breathtakingly beautiful and perfect for walking. In spring the air is fresh and bright, and autumn boasts more mellow hues. In summer, poppies dance in the breeze and the golden eagle soars high above in glorious isolation. At dusk, fireflies dance in the olive grove and later, the exquisite song of the nightingale enhances the dark midnight air as the lights twinkle up from the old walled city of Fabriano, birthplace of 14th century artist Gentile da Fabriano and home of the Museo della Carta (museum of papermaking), nestling in the valley below.
